Amazing weather! Only problem being is that last week we were wearing coats and jeans and this week it feels like it’s time to haul out the little summer dresses again…what do you wear them with though? Getting down with the whole not spending money thing, I went to take a look in my wardrobe last night to see what can be revamped into something 2010..ish without spending a bomb and here’s what I came up with so far…
- Take up long Whistles tea dress to just under the knee (€10), add a pair of tights, a little black cardi, and a pair of flats (€30 M&S)…and there’s one perfect little spring outfit.
- Take stripy Breton top (used to be night clothes!), wear with long white vest underneath (€15 Topshop) to cover skinny jeans bum. Wear with cream flats that have seen at least four summers already! Maybe buy some cream shoe polish to pretty them up (€5).
- Turn up skinny jeans, add a pair of heels, a going outish top, a last year blazer, and a pretty floral scarf (try Penney’s, Dunnes or Accessorize if you’re splashing out) and you’ve got an after work drinks outfit.
- Drag out a pair of Lee flares from years gone by, add a pair of wedges (anything goes this summer – apart from white patent (guilty, back in 1998!)), and a cute cami top. I actually saw a great one in Oasis, cream, cute but €50 and over budget. Add cardi and you’re all set.
…not bad for a 30 minute rummage, a €60 investment and four new outfits. Keep posted if you want some top tips for updating your wardrobe with minimal investing.
